So, we seem to be hot on religion and spirituality at the moment, who believes their spirituality is part of their kink or by engaging in what they do, they are seeking spiritual fulfillment?

It takes all sorts in this kinky realm, I know that, my spirituality is part of my kink, even spiritualities of other beliefs figure in my explorations, is anyone else the same?

mmm you are suicidal..lol....no..interesting question.
I gained something from the satanist world....not meaning sacrefice...not meaning devil worship...but selfcontrol...focussing on yourself etc.
That helps me beeing me..keep my head straight..and even helped me tell friends who I am..

I see my kink as partially spiritual. I consider myself a spiritual masochist. Part of what I seek is an altered state of consciousness, a place like shamans seek when they take hallucinogens or like monks seek when they flaggellate themselves. It is part of the reason I think of my masochistic side as not completely connected to my submissiveness... there are things I seek in that place that are not about being submissive to my Daddy even though it deepens the connection between us and bonds us

Interesting to say the least.  Until about 5 minutes ago I never really thought about it.  But, I would have to say that it most likely plays a small role in why I choose to submit, I do believe in natural order.  We were not made to compete with each other but rather to compliment each other.  I am not saying women must follow men, etc.  But am speaking more about personality traits...for instance...

I am more of a caregiver if someone doesn't need me...I shudder to think how I would feel so I am naturally drawn to men who are not only intouch with their emotions but tend to lead with a level head because I do have a tendancy to lead with my heart which is not always the safest or most accurate route to take.  Making any sense?

I would say the biggest impact on my submissiveness would be upbringing and tradition.  While my parents were not lifestylers my mother did place much of her happiness in my father's hands and native women from birth up are taught to trust the men of their tribe not only for shelter but food, advice, etc.

I'm sorry I know I'm probably not making much sense and really should avoid posting when my brain is out of service but I found it an interesting and thought provoking topic.

Hmm, it's true that I feel protective of those around, so I guess I am a guardian from a spiritual standpoint. These topics have certainly set my mind working overtime!

for me there could be alot of guilt if i allowed it. I want to a catholic school K-12 and the nuns taught the belief that sex was for procreation only, not to be enjoyed at all.

I think everything we believe makes up who we are, i dont think thats always qunatifiable or split into sections and over analysing everything makes my head hurt. I am spiritual, thats part of me therefore its part of my submission, i cant split it apart and say why i just think everything is interlinked in some way.

My mother tried to convince us girls that ALL sex was evil.  I've always been a thorn in my mother's side and probably a big reason that everytime I hit the big O I have a tendancy to giggle as I slide back to earth.

For me, the relationship in this aspect, is a tool for finding spiritual fulfillment; not the fulfillment it’s self.

It can be a quick pass for getting around self placed roadblocks, which at one point served a purpose, but are no longer necessary.

Though, I do find the lesson of humility to be rather up-lifting.

Yes, a very good topic.  I have to agree with colouredin in that your "values" come from somewhere, and those are connected to various interpretations of what is considered "spiritual".

For me there is a definite connection in that how I treat other people (espicially subs) is very tied to my own spiritual view of what is going to build them up or respect them.  I think my strength and control (limits and indulgences) do come from how I view my own "spirituality".  It is not a ying and yang kinda thing, but I belive all the same.

My spirituality is part of everything I do:  motherhood, astronomy and most definitely sex/submission.  My elan, my flair, my joie de vivre -- that's how I'd express it.

And some of the things we do together, wow!  Definitely I've had a 'religious experience' or two.

Actually, it makes a lot of sense. I have been so much a nurturer, even without motherhood, that the attitude of helpfulness (I hesitate to call it "service") is so much a part of my nature as to nearly define who I am. (And that may be the sentence that didn't make sense.)

Hmm, my exposure to religion had an effect on who I am, but it doesn't have any impact on what makes me want to turn my girl's ass beet red.

Unless porn is a religion.

And lo, Ron Jeremy descended from the mountain, and to his people he spake,

"That's right, you like it, don't you, you fucking whore!"

Spirituality is part of my kink the same way that spirituality is part of how I have sex, how I work, how I love someone, how I choose to progress in myself.  That is to say, no more or less than any other part of who I am, where it is omnipresent.

I definitely see a spiritual side to what I do...when I am at my most aroused, in "subspace" or whatever, I try to become the divine feminine, the 'yin' energy.  Passive, responsive, a recepticle for the 'yang' energy. I also try to use that energy to sort of boost my dominant partner, so that he feels more dominant, more masculine, and can channel the 'yang' energy.

I was highly into mysticism when I was younger...it still plays a part in my life but it's more for internal growth than simply curiosity like it was before.

At one time, I was interested in two separate subjects, subjects which I could not quite touch on, sort of elusive. Those subjects were paganism and BDSM,constant questions that I was ill equipped to answer. That was at a time when I was nilla. Now, I am not nilla and lo and behold, my brand of paganism seems to make more sense, I know what I believe and what guides me and am one hundred percent happy with my belief.

About the same time, I happened upon the writings of  J.J. Coughlin and his book, 'out of the shadows', something which touched a cord inside, Through it I came to understand my darkness and it isn't evil.

For those that are interested, the author of this book has the following site;

http://www.waningmoon.com/darkpagan/library.shtml

The articles on sexuality provide interesting reading

The answer is yes....why?
because Master is a reiki Master and i have done reiki so his spunk gives me white light....because He is an astrologer and it's interesting to note the astrological birth dates of those we are most attracted to, because we discuss karma and dharma at length, and because i also do tassermancy and tarot and W/we often use those to determine good days/bad days to have private parties or to scene.....
and personally? this time round i guess bdsm is my altar, really, yes.....the lowlier i can serve it, the more elevated spiritually i feel.....drag me to the temple and stone me....but it takes at least two......
