I have been wondering what the difference is between a "slave" and a "submissive" to  E/everyone?
Any thoughts?

edited for clarification.

Dear Zszsanna:

The best reply i can give you is from a post by LuckyAlbatross whom may come on here later and repost several urls, please read them it can be found at url:  http://www.collarchat.com/m_668519/mpage_1/key_difference%252Cbetween%252Cslave%252Csubmissive/tm.htm#668701

The difference between slave and submissive varies and has been debated and will be debated as long as there is BDSM.  i have my version of what it is but that doesn't mean that i'm right or wrong it's just my humble opinion.  The fact remains that the act of submission is given at the level that the one giving it can give it and at that moment it's a power exchange that is beyond words.

Here we go again. It is the question of the ages - kinda like which came first the chicken or the egg. Personally i think it's whatever you and your Dominant think it is. It's a very individual thing and you'll get as many answers as there are people here since the whole lifestyle is really designed to be fashioned according to a person or persons individual desires, needs and ideas.

Perhaps a better question is what's the difference between a submissive and a slave to you?

My personal view: I think everything is just up to what feels right for the people involved and most of the time the only difference between a sub and a slave is the word they and their dominant choose.

Just to let you know, a lot of the "big" questions get brought up a lot. I try to always search though the old posts before posting something new but a particular aspect of my question may not have been answered, or perhaps the topic was discussed awhile ago and you want a fresh look. However, this one gets brought up a lot and some other threads turn into the issue of "sub vs. slave". Because of that you might get a lot of sarcastic replies, much like if you had made a huge post complaining about fakes.

It always depends on where you sit.  These are personally defined terms.  One person's slave is another's submissive.

For me, slavery implies an absence of personal choice in most, if not all, facets of life in the relationship.  For those who really, really, really need/enjoy complete and utter control/lack of control.

I think most people here have a sliding scale that suits their sensabilities.
